Deccan Odyssey is a luxury train that derives its beautiful name from its journey route that traverses various tourist attractions located on the Deccan Plateau of India. It took several months to design this dazzling beauty, and after years of craft work the train was put to the inception of 16 January 2004.

The itinerary of the train is derived after understanding the travel requirements of its guests and to portray the complete picture of Maratha history, heritage, and lifestyle.

Each of the 21 luxury coaches is tastefully designed, of which 11 are used for accommodation while the remaining are used for various other purposes like dining, conference, spa, lounge, etc. All the cabins of this luxury hotel on wheels are fully equipped with modern-day facilities.

The meticulously designed 7 nights and 8 days itinerary traverses through an array of World Heritage sites, exotic wildlife Reserves, ancient monuments, magnificent palaces, and forts of the erstwhile rulers. Detailed Itinerary of Deccan Odyssey:

Mumbai to Delhi

Day 1: Mumbai
In the evening, after reaching the CST terminus in Mumbai, you will be warmly received by our Deccan Odyssey representative. After completing the formalities, the representative will show you the way to your luxury cabin. Get settled in your cabins while admiring its beauty and lavishness.

Deccan Odyssey is bound to leave Mumbai at its scheduled time and chugs from the Mumbai railhead to reach Aurangabad. Enjoy the dinner served onboard.

Day 2: Aurangabad
Next morning the train enters the Aurangabad station. After enjoying a lavish breakfast on the train, disembark from the train for a sightseeing tour of Ellora Caves.

After visiting the Ellora caves return to the comforts of the train for lunch and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Dinner is served on board later train departs for Jalgaon in the night.

Day 3: Aurangabad
On the following day the train reaches Aurangabad disembark from the train to enjoy an excursion to Ajanta caves.

Enjoy a lavish lunch on the train while spending the rest of the day at leisure in the comforts of the train. In the evening train leaves the station to reach Udaipur.

Day 4: Udaipur
On reaching Udaipur move out for an excursion to City Palace along with enjoying a boat ride on Pichola Lake.

Enjoy lunch in the comfortable surroundings of train along with a gala dinner at the Palace Hotel. The Train reaches Sawai Madhopur in the night.

Day 5: Sawai Madhopur
Post breakfast set off for the Jungle Safari. After the safari excursion, enjoy lunch in the train. Enjoy High –Tea at the Taj Lodge. Enjoy the lavish dinner is served in the train.

Day 6: Jaipur
In the morning, set off for an excursion to Amber Fort. Enjoy a lavish lunch at a city hotel followed by a sightseeing tour of Jaipur. Dinner on board as the train proceeds towards Agra.

Day 7: Agra
Post breakfast, enjoy a sightseeing tour to Fatehpur Sikri. Enjoy lunch at the City Hotel. The afternoon is reserved for visiting the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort. The train leaves for Delhi in the night.

Day 8: Delhi
In the morning, after the train reaches Delhi, disembark from the train after enjoying a lavish breakfast.

Itinerary of Deccan Odyssey Delhi to Mumbai

Day 1 – Delhi
In the evening after reaching Safdarjung railway station in Delhi, the guests will receive a warm welcome. After completing the boarding formalities, attendees of the train will escort you to your cabin. The train leaves Delhi station at its scheduled time to reach Agra.

Day 2 – Agra
On the following day the train enters in Agra at the scheduled time. After enjoying a sumptuous breakfast set off for a sightseeing tour to Fatehpur Sikri. After visiting Fatehpur Sikri enjoy a lavish lunch at City Hotel.

After lunch return to the comforts of the train for relaxing for a while. Spend the rest of time on hand at leisure. In the evening, train chugs out from Agra railway station to reach Jaipur.

Day 3 – Jaipur
With the breaking of dawn the marks its entry at the Jaipur railway station. After enjoying the breakfast served on the train visit Amber Fort.

After enjoying a lavish lunch at one of the city hotels, followed by a sightseeing tour of Jaipur. Later return to the train for relaxing for a while in its comforting surroundings. Enjoy the dinner served on board as the train leaves for Sawai Madhopur at night.

Day 4 – Sawai Madhopur
Next morning as the reaches Sawai Madhopur the guests are served with mouth watering breakfast. Post breakfast head to a jungle safari excursion.

Move out for an afternoon safari soon after finishing a lavish lunch. Later in the day head to Taj Lodge for a High –Tea time. Enjoy the dinner being served on the train while the train chugs towards its next destination Udaipur.

Day 5 – Udaipur

Next day reaches Udaipur, set off for a visit to the City Palace followed by a boat ride on the beautiful Pichola Lake. Later enjoy the sumptuous dinner served inside the train. Later spend the rest of the time on hand at leisure and in complete accordance with your wishes.

Enjoy tasting the mouth-watering cuisines while enjoying a dinner organized at the Palace Hotel. The train departs to reach its next destination Aurangabad in the night.

Day 6 – Aurangabad – Ellora Caves
In the morning enjoy a sightseeing tour to Ellora Caves. After the visit to the caves, return to the comforts of the train for a sumptuous lunch. Enjoy spending the rest of the day at leisure. In the evening the train departs for Jalgaon in the night.

Day 7 – Aurangabad – Ajanta Caves
On reaching Aurangabad set off for an excursion to alluring Ajanta Caves. After the visit to the caves, return to the train for relaxing in your private cabins appointed with all modern day facilities.

Day 8 – Mumbai
In the morning the train reaches CTS terminal Mumbai and breakfast is served to the guests on board. After enjoying the sumptuous breakfast, disembark from the train marking the end of this enchanting tour.
