Dining on board the train during the entire duration of journey is offered in the 2 restaurants of Deccan Odyssey – Peshwa I and Peshwa II. Each dining car comes with a seating capacity of 42 passengers at a time.

The train houses a bar and sitting lounge where guests could select from an array of home brands of wine and liquors. Lounge and bar of the train are ideally suited for relaxation, observation and getting to know your fellow travelers.

The health spa center onboard gives the voyagers a chance to discover the refreshing side of your personality and appearance with pampering spa and massage therapies. From the treasure trove of ancient Indian science Ayurveda, the secrets of rejuvenations have been used so that the entire jaunt can be turned into a regenerating experience for the travelers.

It is usually advisable to book at least 1 day in a hotel before and after the date of your journey. The itinerary of the train lasts for 7 nights without a break and guest will spend the entire period of the itinerary either on board the train or doing the sightseeing tours of the destinations included in the itineraries. .

The departure of the Deccan Odyssey train is from either Mumbai or Delhi depending upon the itinerary you choose. There are connecting flights to these cities from both international and domestic cities. We also offer airplane tickets from all major cities around the world along with domestic plane tickets.

Personal – WIt is required that you carry your personal travel insurance papers with you in order to be able to board the train and it is advisable that you carry your personal insurance document from your resident country for illness, injury, accident, death, loss of luggage and holiday cancellation.

Train Tour – The train and journey on board Deccan Odyssey is comprehensively covered for any natural calamities.

Travel Documents, which are valid only for the passenger(s) named, will be issued after receipt of full payment for your reservation. Please carry your confirmation of booking with you on departure.

If you want to enjoy your stay in India and cover other major tourist attractions besides the attractions included in your journey, you may choose to do so by selecting or letting us know of your requirements and travel plans at the time of your rail tour booking. To maintain the high standard and exclusivity of this luxury train tour, it is advisable to wear smart casuals at all the time during your Deccan Odyssey train tour. It is also expected to wear formal dress during the dining on board to maintain the exclusive ambience. It is also advisable to carry your swimsuit as the itinerary include visit to several beaches.

As there is a little storage space inside your personal cabins, so passengers are requested to carry luggage as per the international airline rules for the first/business class passengers. Soft-topped luggage is always recommended as these can be stored easily.

It is advisable that you mention your special dietary requirements if any e.g. food allergy, veg/non-veg at the time of the inquiry and booking of your rail journey.

Porter is provided at the point of embarkation and disembarkation free of cost to carry your luggage.

Each guest car is provided with personal butler to take care of the needs of the guests round the clock and assist them in their need.

For physically challenged passengers, wheelchairs, crèches and a special attendant for assistance are also available onboard Deccan Odyssey. If you have any such special requirements, please mention it at the time of booking to avoid last minute complicacies.

Carry light shoes as there’s lot of sightseeing activities involved on foot. Giving alms to beggars/hawkers is strictly discouraged. Respecting local sentiments is also advised during trips to religious places. Cover as much skin as possible. Both men and women should keep their shoulders covered while visiting religious places.

An English speaking guide will always accompany you during your off-train excursions. Other language speaking guides could also be arranged for and has to be mentioned during the time of booking.

Air conditioned transportations to and from attractions during the rail tour is provided free of cost to the guests.

As per Indian Law – Smoking in India is prohibited in all public places. However, those who wish to smoke can contact the captain for the same.

For all medical emergency situations, the train offers medical aids on board.

While travelling to India, no specific vaccination is required,; but foreigners need to carry their Yellow Fever Vaccination certificate conforming to international health regulations, if they are originating or traveling through Yellow Fever prevalent countries. You also need to take precautions for malaria. Please consult your physicians before embarking on the journey. If you are on a medication, carry sufficient amount of medicines required during the span of the journey. Mosquitoes and insects repellents are also need to be carried to be safe from the hands of diseases and allergies.

All the passengers are requested to keep their cell phones on silent mood while on board or during off-train excursion tours. In all the public areas of the train, the use of cell phones and laptops are restricted. You can use these services in the privacy of your cabins.

All the cabins are equipped with telephones. The cost of external calls will be charged separately as it is not included in the cost of the journey.

It is a courtesy in Indian tradition to offer gratuities for small services. The gratuities for off-board guides, escort and staff is included in the journey cost. It is completely upon the guests to offer and not to offer gratuities for services.

All crew members are well versed in English. The team is dedicated towards ensuring that every need of guests shouldn’t just meet, but anticipated.

In order to run, the train requires a certain minimum number of passengers. In case the numbers are not met, the journeys may either be postponed or cancelled. However the cost in such cases will be fully refunded. Dining, accommodation, transportation (sightseeing in ac coaches), English speaking guides, porter charges, entrance fees at the monuments and still camera fees are included in the tariff of Deccan Odyssey.

The Deccan Odyssey tariff does not include any expenses of personal nature on and off the train, liquor, beverages, use of spa, telephone and business center facilities.
