The capital city of Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad, is almost 500 years old. The city is located at an average height of 500m above the sea level, on the Deccan Plateau. The region mainly features rocky terrain. Formerly, the city was founded on the southern shores of Musi River, which is now called the historical Old City. The city hosts popular attractions such as Mecca Masjid and Charminar. Additionally, there also are various landmarks and governments building being constructed, majorly on the southern side of the Lake Husain Sagar. The city’s development at a fast pace, together with the development of the adjacent city of Secunderabad and municipalities have also contributed to the huge and dense population in the region.
